I will

I will sacrifice shots of joy,

Sing and make music to the Lord.

My heart hears the voice of God,

My mind speaks to my soul to follow.

(Psalm 28:6, 8)

A day as a substitute teacher

“No bad picture,” I encouraged a boy,

Who was ashamed to draw his own;

Then he happily put his scribbles on the paper.

“Let’s count in numbers.”

All kids confidently counted to 100.

Touch each of their heads and say to them “you are great”;

An encouraging word helps them go a long way.

Play ice ball like soccer with the kids in recess,

Who forgot snow pants and stood by the door;

They were happy to play along with one another.

Pray for a little kindergartener girl,

Who misses mommy all of a sudden,

Then she was satisfied with my comfort and ran to play.

Walk around the playground,

Notice the little girl holding a long stick climbing the snow dune.

“I see you have a stick, like a grandma’s crane.”

“How about you open your arms to balance like skating?”

She gave me her crane and climbed happily on the snow.

I threw the stick away to avoid danger.

Kids shouted at a tall pine tree.

I walked to them and looked above.

“Is there a monkey?”

I cannot hear their loud replies.

“Leave it alone and it will come down.”

The kids scattered to play and forgot it all.

Help a boy with snow boots.

Put on the mittens for a girl.

Zip up the coat for another boy.

I am like a mommy again.

Lead them to the bus after school,

Walk ahead of the line and hear the running steps behind.

“You are too fast.” I hear the girl shout.

Lay my hand on the shoulder of the mommy girl,

Who told me she eats candy as a snack when she gets home.

Finally everyone went on the bus.

I waved goodbye to the bus drivers,

Praying they all go home without any trouble.

Thank Father God for today,

He uses me to be His hand,

To touch the kids with His delight of encouragement.

“Doing it to the little ones as on Me,”

His loving command empowers me to give.

The Law in your heart

Hope in the Lord,

Never be ashamed or disappointed.

For Father God affirm my faith,

Jesus has covered my faults.

God’s eyes focus on the major,

Jesus Christ’s blood overlooks the minor.

He is my loving Parent and Teacher.

So I invite Jesus Christ to go with me.

Stop by some place I like to see.

I am set free to follow His voice,

Without fear of harm or mistakes,

For He has delighted in me.

No more law of speed limit in the heavenly Highway,

For I am set free to drive.

Only the Holy Spirit’s nudge to remind,

Slow down for self and others’ safety.

When you are condemned for breaking the law,

No policeman outside comes to punish,

But the Holy Spirit inside of your heart to nudge and protect.

No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame,(Psalm 25:3a)

King of Glory

King of Glory,

Welcome to my heart.

King of mighty,

You have won the battle.

King of Glory,

Shine your light,

Break off my chain of evil.

King of Glory,

Reveal your power,

Rescue the lost,

Comfort the oppressed.

King of glory,

Let us worship you,

With all our breath ,

Till eternity.

(Psalm 24)

No fear

God has said,

“I will never fail you.

I will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper,

So I will have no fear.”

God will never let go of His hand,

Holding on to me in my faint.

God is stronger and wiser,

Knowing all my requests and true faith.

God always keeps promises,

Being with me till the end;

Until the earthly has passed,

I shall see His love face to face.

(Hebrews 13:5-6)

My car

I am driving a bull dozer,

With my coach by my side.

My body is like the car,

My mind is like the engine,

My prayer agreeing with the Holy Spirit is like hte gasoline.

I run through big of small troubles,

Through my prayer in His name.

Even my body and mind may fail,

My Coach is still with my spirit.

He prepares a feast in front of me,

No devil dares to hush.

I run over all earthly obstacles,

Until we reach to eternity,

All by Jesus Christ, the champions’ lead.

(Hebrews 12:1-2, 26-27)

I don’t fully understand God’s plans on earth,

But it doesn’t matter to change what I understand about God’s promises,

The earthly will be shaken,

But the godly will remain.

So, I rejoice in the everlasting glory,

Even without clear answers for this life.

Jesus Christ loves me the same, no matter if he answer yes to my prayers or not,

He is faithful to fulfill my eternal destiny.

a shadow

Death is a shadow,

Not reality in spiritual world.

Although my body walks under the shadow of earthly realm,

My spirit rises up above and shine,

Leads my mind by the Light.

God’s word is the comfort to my soul,

The weapon against the devil.

When God speaks in heaven,

The earth and heavens are shaken.

Only eternal things built on solid Rock will be left.

His mighty hand reach me from on high,

My spirit shall be lifted up to Him

As I take off my earthly form,

Like the butterfly was out of cocoon.

(Psalm 23, 29, 113:4, Hebrews 12:26-27)

Love you

God is love.

I say “Love you” to the class in Jei-Ming,

I heard a kid asking “Why?”

“Because you are loveable,”

I hear what I reply.

Yes. You are loveable,

That’s why Jesus CHrist died,

For you on the cross,

And was resurrected to bring you back,

To be cherished and loved by Him forever.

The purpose of a godly life

My life has been transformed,

For the purpose of spreading His love,

From the day I owe my life to Him on.

Through His power and my faith,

By the privilege and authority,

My mouth opens and speaks His blessings,

Commanding the evil to go away from me,

Proclaiming the orders God decrees.

Let His word come to be,

Let His voice establish His means.

And reveal His divine glory in you and me.

I reveal His glory

All His works reveal His glory,

For He speaks into His creation as the omnipotent Craftsman.

I am His workmanship,

Revealing His omniscient .

He will use everything He created in me,

For His omnipresent life dwells right here in me.

How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in Him should ponder them. Everything He does reveals His glory and majesty. (Psalm 111:2-3)
