I heard this man’s speech saying: “No miracle is coming…I will protect you…” and “As God’s people, each of us has a purpose in our lives…”
In the beginning, I was confused about his words. I wonder if he believes in the true and only God, who is able to do miracles, why he says there’s no miracle coming? If he believes the true and only God, won’t he say God will protect you rather than I will protect you? Then I remember the Bible says “I said, ‘ you are “gods”, you are all sons of the Most High. But you will die like mere men, you will fall like every other ruler.’” (Psalms 82:6-7)
Therefore, either this man believes a “god” which is not the true God because the true God is the Creator of the universe and is able to do miracles; or he is seeing himself as a god who wants and thinks he can control his own life and even protect others.
The Bible says: But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ (Luke 12:20). Sadly, since he is a mere man who will die, he indeed needs Jesus Christ’s help to see a miracle is coming, which his life itself is a miracle given by the gracious God.
Prayer:
Lord God, Jesus Christ, may you open this man’s eyes and give him a humble heart to see he needs your help to see You are the true God who is able to do miracles so that he won’t fool himself to think he can protect himself and others. May God reveal to him that You are the Most High, the Lord of lords, the God of gods, so that he may humble himself to seek You. In Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
